Story & Plot:
The Ordinary Jackpot is a 2026 Korean workplace comedy about an ordinary office worker whose life changes after he wins the lottery. The story follows Gong Eun-tae, played by Lee Jun-hyuk, a hardworking team leader at a major company.
Eun-tae has spent years working hard and trying to build a stable life. But despite his efforts, he feels exhausted and stuck in the same routine. His job comes with pressure from both his superiors and his team, leaving him caught in the middle of office politics.
One day, Eun-tae unexpectedly wins the lottery. The prize is 1.3 billion won, a huge amount of money, but not enough to completely change his life overnight. He briefly considers leaving his job, but instead decides to return to work the very next day.
The difference is that Eun-tae no longer feels trapped by the fear of losing everything. With a new sense of freedom, he begins to approach his job and relationships differently. He becomes more willing to speak his mind, make bold decisions, and challenge the workplace habits he once accepted.
His changed attitude also affects his colleagues, including Yang Jun-ho, a coworker whose relationship with Eun-tae strains after Eun-tae is promoted ahead of him. Jung Sun-hyuk, another team leader, also becomes part of the story as the characters deal with their own ambitions and frustrations.
As the story develops, the drama explores how a sudden change in circumstances can change how people see their jobs, relationships, and themselves. Instead of simply escaping his ordinary life, Eun-tae begins to discover what he actually wants from it.
