Story & Plot:
Four Hands, Two Sonatas is a 2026 Korean drama set at an elite arts high school, where talented young musicians compete, form friendships, and discover what music means to them. The drama stars Song Kang as Kang Pi-o, Lee Jun-young as Choi Jeong-yo, and Jang Gyu-ri as Hong Jae-in.
Kang Pi-o is a brilliant pianist who has always worked hard to stay at the top. He is a perfectionist and feels enormous pressure to become the best pianist in the world. His carefully controlled life changes when Choi Jeong-yo, a naturally gifted pianist with a difficult childhood, enters his world.
Unlike Pi-o, Jeong-yo has a more free-spirited personality. Although he has tremendous musical talent, difficult circumstances caused him to lose sight of his dream of becoming a pianist. After hearing Pi-o play, Jeong-yo is inspired to pursue music again.
At first, the two boys become rivals. Pi-o sees Jeong-yo’s natural talent as a threat to the position he worked so hard to achieve. But as they spend more time together, their relationship gradually changes. They begin to understand each other and eventually discover that they can create something special by playing together.
They are also joined by Hong Jae-in, a talented viola student and Pi-o’s close friend. Together, the three experience the excitement and pressure of life at an arts school while dealing with friendship, competition, family expectations, and their dreams for the future.
The title refers to four-hands piano, a style in which two people play the same piano together. This becomes an important part of Pi-o and Jeong-yo’s journey, representing how two very different people can learn to work together and create harmony.
