Story & Plot:
Squid Game Season 1 follows Seong Gi-hun, a struggling man who is drowning in financial problems and struggling to provide a stable life for his daughter. One day, he receives an unusual invitation to participate in a mysterious competition.
Gi-hun is taken to a secret location along with 455 other contestants. They are promised a massive prize of 45.6 billion won if they become the final winner. However, they soon discover that the familiar childhood games they must play have deadly consequences.
As the games continue, Gi-hun forms relationships with several players, including his childhood friend Cho Sang-woo, North Korean defector Kang Sae-byeok, and the elderly Oh Il-nam. The contestants must decide whether to cooperate with each other or put their own survival first.
Meanwhile, police officer Hwang Jun-ho secretly infiltrates the facility while searching for his missing brother. His investigation begins to reveal the people behind the mysterious games and the secrets surrounding the organization. (Netflix)
The competition becomes increasingly difficult, testing not only the players’ abilities but also their friendships, trust, and morality. Gi-hun gradually changes from a selfish and careless person into someone who genuinely cares about the other contestants.
